Welcome to the adventure system. Here I will briefly describe some undocumented features.. The *edit command also has a "Z" command to remove all the objects from a room (necessary if you make a mistake creating one you cant pick up, this may happen if the short object description is not one word).. When the system has a user online, the 25th status line displays his or her statitics, this line may be switched to the interactive DM command with the [escape] key. Whether this works or not I have no idea, I did not have time to test it before uploading this program.. Next message please? The room files came with only 5 or 6 rooms. Of course this is not enough to run a campaign so you must* create more rooms. To create a room merely type in a new direction from the room you are in and the system will ask you if you want to create a new room in that direction.. The monster file has 10 classes of monsters, 18 per class. They are taken from the TSR hobbies monster manula II dungeon monster section.. None of these monsters currently have any treasure, so you must* add add to the treasure file and place them on monsters in *edit.. Next message please? If you want your players to have containers, create them in *edit.. When the editor asks for a boxfilename, type in a DOS filename (without the extention) something like BOX001.. As you make more containers, make different filenames BOX002 or CHEST01.. Making two containers with the same filename causes the containers to share the same treasure!! (and dont put your box in your box, they have a tendencie to disappear).. Boxes are the only treasure that is permanent, inotherwords, all treasure disappears from a room when you leave it except for boxes -- they stick around. Next message please? In *edit when you create an object it can be hidden or invisible. Hidden objects cannot be found in a search command. If a door is hidden and locked it cannot be smashed open, you must get a thief to picklock it. If it is invisible and locked you can smash it open. Further, if it is hidden and locked requiring a key, you cannot even picklock it, you must find the key. Keys have a number 1-9999 which must match the lock number 1-9999. Containers can be locked and have keys. When unlocking something with a key, the program will scan your inventory for the matching key number.
